About This Scale

The Major Pentatonic scale removes the 4th and 7th degrees from the Major scale, eliminating all semitone intervals. This makes it one of the most "forgiving" scales — almost any note sounds good over its corresponding chords. It's widely used in country, blues, rock, and pop guitar solos.
